- We do not collect payment card information on this website; in-shop purchases are handled in person.
- We do not build advertising profiles about you.
- We do not sell your personal information to anyone. Ever.

- To respond to your messages and reservation requests.
- To source books you have asked us to find.
- To keep our website and application secure and functional.
- To understand, in aggregate, which parts of the shop and the website are most useful to our readers.
- To comply with our legal obligations under the laws of Pakistan.
IV. Legal basis
Where required, we rely on the following bases: your consent (which you may withdraw at any time), the performance of a request or reservation you have asked us to fulfil, our legitimate interests in operating a small independent bookshop, and compliance with applicable law.
V. Sharing & disclosure
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share information only with:
- Service providers who help us run the website, application, or delivery logistics, under confidentiality obligations.
- Distributors and publishers, only to source a specific book you have asked us to find.
- Authorities, where required by a lawful order.
VI. Data retention
We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected, and then it is deleted or anonymised. Reservation and correspondence records are typically kept for up to 24 months. Server logs are typically kept for up to 90 days.
VII. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures — including encryption in transit, restricted staff access, and secure hosting — to protect your information. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we treat any incident seriously and will notify you where required by law.
VIII. Children's privacy
Although the MR BOOKS+ shop welcomes readers of every age, our website and mobile application are intended for adults (16+) and for parents or guardians acting on behalf of a child. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
IX. Mobile application (Google Play)
Our mobile application, when installed from Google Play, follows the same privacy principles as this website. The application:
- Handles user data in accordance with the Google Play User Data policy and Families policy where applicable.
- Discloses the collection, use, and sharing of personal and sensitive user data in this policy and in the Data safety section of our Play Store listing.
- Limits access, collection, use, and sharing of personal and sensitive user data to purposes directly related to providing and improving the features of the app.
- Uses secure transmission (HTTPS/TLS) for any personal or sensitive user data.
- Does not sell personal or sensitive user data to third parties.
- Never uses your data for unrelated advertising or profiling.
X. Permissions we may request
The mobile application will only request device permissions that are necessary for a feature you are using. Where a permission is requested, it will be explained in-context:
- Internet / network access — required to load book listings and send messages.
- Notifications — optional; used only for order or reservation updates you have asked for.
- Storage — optional; used to cache book covers and save your wish list on your device.
- Camera — optional; used only when you choose to scan a book's barcode to search for it.
You can revoke any permission at any time in your device's system settings. We do not access contacts, precise location, SMS, call logs, microphone, health data, or installed application lists.
XI. Third-party services
We use a limited number of trusted service providers to operate the application:
- Hosting & content delivery — to serve the website and application data.
- Crash and diagnostic reporting — to help us fix bugs. Reports are anonymised where possible.
- Basic analytics — to understand aggregate usage. We do not use analytics for advertising.
Each provider is bound by contractual obligations to keep your information confidential and to use it only for the purposes we specify.
XII. International transfers
Some of our service providers may process information outside Pakistan. When this happens, we use providers who apply appropriate safeguards and offer a level of protection consistent with this policy.
XIII. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may:
